Norton 360 2.0 and 3.0 are two different versions of a multi-functional security software suite. Both Norton 360 2.0 and Norton 360 3.0 were developed by the Symantec Corporation.
- Symantec released Norton 360 2.0 on March 5, 2008. Norton 360 3.0 came out nearly a year later, on April 3, 2009.
- Norton 360 2.0 has a plethora of features, including email scanning, rootkit detection, Identity Safe (which protects personal information when banking on-line), web site authentication, network monitoring (the ability to view connected network devices), firewall protection, PC performance tune-ups, optional parental controls and the ability to automatically back up and restore data.
- Norton 360 3.0 added a wide variety of additional features, including Norton Pulse (which updates the software very frequently), Norton Insight (which automatically scans potentially harmful files), botnet detection (which prevents attackers from taking control of a PC) and a diagnostic recommendation report (which provides tips for improving computer performance).
